Why The War On Terror Has Been So Difficult

I believe it's because we've drawn too much inspiration from G.I. Joe. Normally, that isn't such a terrible thing...but then you look at what passed for "vehicles" in that universe, and you wonder why 80% of the characters didn't die a horrible, fiery death.

When I was a kid, a G.I.Joe was basically a Barbie for boys. It was even the same size. I know there was a jeep, and there may have been a howitzer to pull from it.
The best part: the fuzzy head.

Scary thought: the guys who make those toys and the guys who design real war machines - do they go back and forth?

Re: scary thought - I wouldn't be surprised to find out they are either the same people, or connected in some way. But Cracked had a good point: half of those things had people hanging on the side for dear life; if the military has been taking it's design cues from a 20-year-old toy line, it's no wonder the casualty count is so high.

It's also a shame considering that Larry Hama (who wrote for the comic for a long time) actually had a military background. I can only how he felt as Hasbro kept insisting that he added more vehicles in his stories.
