There's Always More Than One Motive...

Why are Wisconsin Republicans getting more restrictive as to who can do what? Is it all about killing the unions, who are the biggest organized donors to the Democratic Party? Financially-speaking: probably so.

But there may also be a demographic element at play. According to 2000 Census information:

1. White people made up 90% of the population
   
2. Black people made up 6.1% of the population
3. Asian people made up 1.9% of the population

In 2009, those demographics were:

1. White people: 89.4%
   
2. Black people: 6.2%
   
3. Asian people: 2.2%

And the Latino population? It went from 3.6% in 2000 to 5.3% in 2009.
