Former Alaskan Governor endorses Congressman Louie Gohmert ; John Boehner is re-elected . Remember: she was almost Vice President, y'all!

The House Speaker may be using the health care birth control issue for political gain   legitimately concerned about the health of women, but he may want to know that between those on the college level and the country's largest Catholic hospital people seem to have already addressed many relevant concerns. Besides, the Tea Party is concerned with  fiscal issues, not social ones , right?

Make no mistake: they saved his ass , and financially-speaking, the country as well. The Tea Party Caucus is cooling off of him, Eric Cantor is eying his job, and if he keeps playing to his base he'll be going the way of Bill Frist. (If you just said, "Who's Bill Frist?" that's the point.)

Then: Michael Steele said , " Let’s get this notion out of our heads that the government creates jobs. Not in the history of mankind has the government ever created a job ." Now: John Boehner says , "In the last two years, under President Obama, the federal government has added 200,000 new federal jobs . If some of those jobs are lost so be it. We're broke." When you get into power, your perception changes.

Speak of the House John Boehner says that President Barack Obama is, according to "the facts," a Christian and a US citizen . Of course, he doesn't plan on going on any tours to convince his party's base otherwise.

Rep. John Boehner's Office on President Obama's HCR proposal : "The White House's 'plan' consists of an 11-page outline, which has not been scored by the Congressional Budget Office or posted online as legislative text. So they want to reorganize one-sixth of the United States' economy with a document shorter than a comic book, and they're complaining that they can't find our plan on their own website? C'mon." Last fall, he said this about the Pelosi Bill: "The best way to get a sense of what Speaker Pelosi's takeover of health care looks like is to actually look at it. Just shy of 2,000 pages, it runs more than 620 pages longer than the government-run plan Hillary Clinton proposed in 1993." So as long as the bill is more than 11 pages yet under 2,000 pages (that itself was an exaggeration; if printed in a traditional fashion it's about as long as Sarah Palin's book), maybe Boehner and Co. will embrace it. Or maybe not...

I didn't want to do this. I really didn't. But the outright hypocrisy of the GOP with this stimulus bill has forced my hand. Allow this video to explain what I'm talking about: GOP leaders complaining about not having time to read a bill before voting on it. Well, this calls for Which I now use to reveal a time where the GOP didn't give a damn whether or not Congress read legislation: Remember the Patriot Act ? The bill nobody ever read? The bill that was laden with so many questionable things, that the repercussions are still being felt ? Anyway, now we know the GOP Ballad: Legislation presumably reacting to being attacked by terrorists must be rushed through without reading it. Legislation presumably reacting to the crumbling economy must be read carefully, line by line and page by page. Or in short: " Whether we're in power or not, we know what's right ."
