Why Is This So Difficult?
Tell me what you think happened in this video: Well, look at how the media frames it: This is why the framing of what is happening in Gaza is important; talking about violent actions without consistently acknowledging the source of that action prevents people from getting a clear picture. For Gaza, it's rarely stated that the IDF is doing the shooting and bombing that is resulting in the deaths of children, medical staff and journalists (aka, non-combatants). For the story of this Australian reporter, most people who won't read past the headline will think that she was not shot by the police. This passive-aggressive method of reporting violence done by those in authority only reinforces the idea that the mainstream media is at best complicit and at worse fully aligned with the state.
A Big Part of LA's "Gang Problem" Is That Gangs Are In the LAPD.
Via Rolling Stone : A BLISTERING NEW official investigation decries violent, lawless “deputy gangs” that continue to wield extraordinary power within the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. The report delivers a call to action for new Sheriff Robert Luna: “It is time to eradicate this 50-year plague upon the County of Los Angeles.” The report identifies at “least a half dozen” active gangs and cliques — and names them: the Executioners, the Banditos, the Regulators, the Spartans, the Gladiators, the Cowboys, and the Reapers. These groups pose a threat to the general public — deputies hoping to prove themselves worthy of gang membership routinely seek out violent encounters with the public, the investigation reports — as well as to the internal command-and-control structure of LASD. Police Brutality Is So Bad in the US Cops Kill People When They Are Pretending.
By "pretending" I mean, " a training exercise :" The Los Angeles Police Department has been hit with a wrongful death lawsuit after an officer was 'beaten to death' in a training exercise meant to 'simulate a mob attack'. Officer Houston Tipping was 'repeatedly struck in the head severely enough that he bled' during a training activity, a lawsuit filed by his mother, Shirley Huffman, alleges. Tipping, 32, was left with multiple breaks in his neck and suffered a 'catastrophic spinal injury' which caused his death, the suit claims. The five-year LAPD veteran also obtained multiple injuries that required stitches. The department said Tipping was injured while 'grappling' with another officer and referred to his death as a 'horrible accident.' No one has been arrested or charged over his death.
