Lee Camp , Danny Haiphong and Richard Medhurst , among others, have covered this revelation (you can find a copy of the story here as well ).  Now despite many, many political figures lamenting the destruction of Nord Stream 2: Many of the people (in the Biden Administration) named have not commented (but some of their spokespeople have): So instead of taking into account the reporting of the man responsible for exposing abuses during Vietnam and Abu Ghraib and correcting the record on how Osama bin Laden was killed and what happened in the Syrian gas attack , they to smear him. And not just politicians and government officials, but other journalists: Considering Hersh's track record of getting the big things correct, we would be smart to believe his report. I was asked why a bunch of college-aged Americans seemed to be celebrating the Death of Osama bin Laden. My theory is pretty simple: they grew up with this guy as their Boogie Man. Ten years ago, these 18, 19 and 20-year-olds were 8, 9 and 10. At that young age they witnessed a shift in how America handles security and foreign relations, but weren't really mentally ready to deal with it. Anyone else with basic critical thinking skills or have been exposed to something similar had an idea of where phrases like "war on terror" or "9/11 changed everything" was going to takes us, and far too often, those places weren't pretty. But these guys? This became their world almost overnight; a world where the enemy could be everywhere, where a friend could turn into an enemy, where saying the wrong thing made people question where your loyalties lie. Iraq and Iran have been fighting each other for a long time; they are adversaries. Up until 2001, it was in America's best interests to keep the two countries at odds over each other...which is why when one side became strong, we'd (meaning the US Military and US Intelligence Agencies) help the other out for balance. Terrorists like Osama bin Laden (and his current #2, Ayman al-Zawahiri) are only sympathic to these nations as far as ethnicity is concerned. But overall, they are and have been against the two for: Siding/dealing with America; and Being too secular for bin Laden's liking.
