More to the point: President Trump wasn't looking for an off-ramp (even if they were, they've tasked Israel to sabotage it); he and the Administration was looking for an excuse to claim victory before planning another attempt to disrupt Iran.

 

  Israel cancelled Palm Sunday in Jerusalem .  Hezbollah is taking out Israeli tanks left and right. Gazan journalists are (still) not safe , despite "ceasefire." Guess who wants Syria to get (more) involved? Why the "offramp" the US is looking for might not happen .
