Nancy Pelosi has benefited from social media. It's safe to say that site like Daily Kos was a factor in her becoming Speaker of the House during the Bush Administration; in fact, the two entities are very simpatico. Well, Pelosi is once again Speaker, but the political landscape has changed. The anti-war (in Iraq and Afghanistan, specifically) crowd has evolved to a non-interventionist movement. Black people who saw Bush's indifference to Hurricane Katrina started talking about police brutality. Those struggling to makes ends meet have watched in astonishment as Democrats and Republicans in Congress joined Bush to bail out the banks, or shuddered as President Obama not only gave some of the Wall Street watchdogs promotions while Occupy Wall Street protesters where being pepper-sprayed and have now begun to embrace universal healthcare, a $15.00 minimum wage and student loan forgiveness.  The Real Base of the Democratic Party has moved left since Pelosi's first stint as...

Very Interesting . First of all, there's the theory that Warren's main role is so siphon votes away from Sanders, which would hard to do (a) if they are on stage where people can compare them and (b) in light of Sander's awesome speech the other day . Of course, pitting Biden with Sanders could hurt Biden's chance of getting the True Base to even give him a decent look. And putting Biden and Warren together only to let Sanders be the star of the other night would be disastrous for every establishment Democrat out there. So the choice to pit Biden against Sanders makes me think the Shaft of the Democratic Party believes that Biden's lead is genuine ( Ha !) and enough to weather a Bernie Storm. Next, we have Tulsi Gabbard ( a person who makes Fox News shake in their boots ) in a group that are pushing sad Military Industrial Complex -friendly ideas . Look what I found: So: I'm supposed to accept that the Democratic Party is circumventing true left-leaning candidates because they only seem to care about who raises the most money .  I'm supposed to accept that Democrats will cave when we need them to stand up , unlike the GOP, who is at least honest about where they stand.  I'm supposed to accept that giving Trump warrant-less spying capabilities and punching down Millennials are "mistakes."  I'm supposed to accept that if a politician (who despite the myths)  has diverse appeal and a popular platform is shoved aside for an establishment-loving, status-quo-appeasing, corporate-schmoozing millionaire who's out of touch with the issues that the poor and working class are concerned about, that it's my fault for not being excited. H/T: the Humanist Report Here's my question: why is it that whenever either the Democrats or the Republicans lose, the solution is to become more conservative. Republicans usually says something along the lines of, "Candidate X did not campaign on our party's conservative values" while Democrats will say something like, "We need to avoid running to the left." Well, you have pro-corporate rich guys threatening to cut Democrats off if they dare to do anything progressives . Progressives are being purged from the ballot and f rom positions of influence and power . Hillary Clinton touted the fact that Henry Kissinger supporter her in the general election.These actions haven't endured the Democrats to their base and doubling down will most likely end up losing support. (Oh, and raising a ton of money should not be seen as a sign of political succes s when you can't win elections).

C'mon guys; stop counting your money and start working on the issues (Universal Healthcare, Affordable College, Repairing our Infrastructure, Police Reform, Ending Unnecessary Wars, Getting Money Out of Politics, Creating a Viable Jobs Program).
