  Notice how some politicians are like, "If you don't like how our state runs, then move?" Well, this is a story where the people mostly liked how their state was run, and it was changed anyway (for the worse).

We're in a time where we have two very solid candidates (Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard) running in the Democratic Primary. They have the appeal of the (true) base, young Democrats, independent voters even some Republicans. The are running on concrete and popular policies. In other words, they have what overpaid pundits would call, "elect-ability." Nevertheless, candidates like Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren are polling better than them in a number of polls. Why? One reason is because the establishment Democrats portray Sanders and Tulsi as outsiders despite Sanders running on a modern-day FDR platform and Gabbard being a Congresswoman in the Democratic Party. Why the portrayal? Because neither Sanders nor Gabbard follow the establishment mantra. They challenge Democratic donors. They speak against the Military Industrial Complex. a.k.a, " Scott Walker is a liar who couldn't live up to his campaign promise ."

Why? If Scott Walker wins, the Republicans will have to stretch to make a connection between the Wisconsin Recall and the 2012 Presidential Election. As it is, many of them are trying to make the case that what happens tonight is not an indicator of what will happen in November. Obama getting more involved makes this Obama vs. Walker, and transitioning from "Scott Walker" to "Mitt Romney" (who's already given Walker props) would not be hard for the Conservative Radio/Blogs/TV crowd. Obama's presence would become a counter-argument to the fact that Walker is getting a lot of outside financial help .Republicans would argue that Obama represents "outside help," but from a political point-of-view. The more the election is centered around the people of Wisconsin, the better it is politically for the country in the long-run. Remember: "all politics is local ."

Of course , he doesn't want too many people to know that.

Why are Wisconsin Republicans getting more restrictive as to who can do what? Is it all about killing the unions, who are the biggest organized donors to the Democratic Party? Financially-speaking: probably so. But there may also be a demographic element at play. According to 2000 Census information : White people made up 90% of the population Black people made up 6.1% of the population Asian people made up 1.9% of the population In 2009 , those demographics were: White people: 89.4% Black people: 6.2% Asian people: 2.2% And the Latino population? It went from 3.6% in 2000 to 5.3% in 2009.

Those who are comparing what went down in Wisconsin yesterday to what Senate Democrats did for the Health Care Reform Bill are missing something crucial: Obama campaigned on reforming health care; Walker said nothing during his campaign for governor about getting rid of collective bargaining. What the Wisconsin GOP did was actually what liberals wanted the Democratic-led US Senate to do: use their majority to push what the base was clamoring for. In results in both cases were also different: Democrats in the US Congress compromised all they way until they realized that the GOP was trying to destroy the legislation piece-by-piece (and they're still going at it). This isn't like other campaign statements (the War in Iraq, for example) where Obama gave himself room for multiple interpretation. No; he said, "I'll walk on that picket line with you as President of the United States of America ." Now, a strike hasn't officially happened, so Obama is technically not a liar. But his press secretary (you can see the precise moment where this guy is like, " Aw; fuck me " when he was being asked about this) isn't helping.

I may have more on this later, but let's make one thing clear: the unions (read: teachers, cops and firefighters) are not the cause of Wisconsin's or and state's financial woes. They didn't come to any governor or state assembly and beg for a bailout after screwing with people's money. They don't give themselves golden parachutes when they retire. They didn't opt to give huge tax breaks to the rich. They are not the problem.
