Google: "How Long Does It Take The United States to Make a Tomahawk Missile?"

Image
I asked Google: "How long does it take the United States to make a tomahawk missile?" Google responded: It takes approximately 18 to 24 months for the U.S. to build a single Tomahawk cruise missile. Production is slowed by a thin supplier base for specialized components, such as solid rocket motors and advanced sensors. While the minimum sustainment rate is about 90 units per year, the Pentagon is working to increase production.  Production Time: 1.5 to 2 years per missile. Production Rate: Approximately 90 per year (minimum), with capacity to scale. Bottlenecks: Shortages in the solid rocket motor supply chain and specialized, single-source components. Cost: Roughly $2.2 million per missile. Considering that the United States was not fully stocked before they attacked Iran, and the likelihood that other similar ammunitions were neither fully stoked nor being manufactured at a faster rate, people really need to start asking how long the United States can continue before ente...

Dock Workers In France Take a Stand Against Genocide

Wonder if this will catch on : French dock workers in Fos-sur-Mer, near Marseille, are blocking the shipment of military equipment bound for Israel, protesting the Israeli military's ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, France 24 reported on 6 June. The action, led by members of the CGT trade union, halted the loading of 19 pallets of bullet links—metal components used to enable rapid machine gun fire—onto a cargo vessel on Thursday. Christophe Claret, a union representative, confirmed that the shipment was identified and set aside after workers were notified of its contents. "Once dockers refuse to load a shipment, no one else can do it for them," Claret told AFP. The remaining cargo for the vessel was loaded as scheduled. The CGT issued a statement denouncing the delivery and declaring it would not be complicit in what it called "the ongoing genocide orchestrated by the Israeli government." Eurolinks, a Marseille-based defense supplier, manufactured the m...

New British Weapon Looks Familiar (If You Grew Up Collecting 80's Toys)

Image
First, the story : Britain this week showed off a new laser weapon that its military says could deliver lethal missile or aircraft defense at around $13 a shot, potentially saving tens of millions of dollars over the cost of missile interceptors that do the job now. Newly released video of a test of what the United Kingdom’s Defense Ministry calls the DragonFire, a laser directed energy weapon (LDEW) system, captured what the ministry says was the successful use of the laser against an aerial target during a January demonstration in Scotland. “It’s a potential game changer for air defense,” the video says as a bright laser beam pierces the night sky over a firing range in the remote Hebrides archipelago, creating a ball of light as it hits its target. The Defense Ministry says the DragonFire can precisely hit a target as small as a coin “over long ranges,” but it did not offer specifics. The exact range of the weapon is classified, it said. The laser beam can cut through metal “le...
