TSA Is Using Airports As ICE Checkpoints

From CNBC : The Transportation Security Administration is giving U.S. immigration officials the names of every airline traveler as part of the Trump administration’s widespread deportation program, The New York Times reported Friday. TSA, several times per week, gives Immigration and Customs Enforcement a list of travelers expected to be passing through airports, the Times reported. “ICE can then match the list against its own database of people subject to deportation and send agents to the airport to detain those people,” the newspaper said. ICE and TSA are both divisions of the Homeland Security Department. A Homeland Security spokesperson, in a statement to CNBC, said of the Times report, “This is nothing new.” “Back in February, Secretary [Kristi] Noem reversed the horrendous Biden-era policy that allowed aliens in our country illegally to jet around our country and do so without identification,” the spokesperson said. “Under President Trump, TSA and DHS will no longer tolera...

If UAW Doesn't Get a Good Deal By Midnight Thursday, They Will Strike

Good to hear : The United Auto Workers union will strike against the Detroit automakers if the sides don’t reach labor deals by an 11:59 p.m. ET Thursday deadline, UAW President Shawn Fain said Wednesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” Fain’s comments came the morning after he outlined plans to local union leaders about implementing targeted strikes at certain General Motors, Ford Motor and Stellantis plants, if agreements aren’t reached by Thursday. “As it stands right now, all three are most likely to be struck unless we get a deal by Sept. 14 at midnight,” Fain said Wednesday to CNBC’s Phil LeBeau when asked whether Ford  is the less likely to be struck. “All three are expected to deliver for their workers and if they don’t, there will be action.” Targeted strikes refer to work stoppages only at certain plants, related to local contract issues that many, if not most, facilities have. That differs from national strikes where all union members exit plants, which occurred four years...

The American Media Is Not Properly Informing or Preparing Its Audience for the Next Economic Shift

Image
Am I talking about a recession? A depression? Mass unemployment? Rise in cost-of-living? More bank bailouts? I'm talking about all of it. Or some of it. Or a combination. Something is coming, and Americans are not being properly prepped. This isn't about stoking fear; it's about being informed enough so that when something does happen, your actions are being governed by fear. Let's start with this news from Business Insider, " The dollar falls behind the yuan for the first time in Chinese cross-border transactions ": For the first time ever, the yuan has eclipsed the US dollar as the most used currency for Chinese cross-border transactions. The yuan's use in cross-border payments and receipts rose to 48.4% at the end of March while the dollar's share slid to 46.7%, according to a Reuters calculation of data from China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange. In 2010, the yuan's share was nearly 0% while the dollar's was 83%, according t...

Joe Biden Is Not a Negotiator, He's Just Connected

With very few options and a disastrous economic fallout looming due hesitation on raising the debt ceiling, President Biden has decided to pull out the big guns, aka, bank CEOs . And wouldn't you know it, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell now wants to deal .  Keep in mind that if Biden was the negotiator that he claimed to be during the 2020 presidential campaign, he wouldn't have needed to reach for such a big stick.

"Jon Stewart Is Just a Comedian; Don't Listen to Him..."

Image
So sayeth NBC Universal Chief Executive Jeff Zucker . "Just because someone who mocks authority says something doesn't make it so," Zucker said, describing the comedian's comments as "completely out of line." The reason Stewart was mocking authority was because your dumb-ass business network didn't challenge authority. In fact, it became the mouthpiece of the very institution you claim to be "observing." In fact, instead of schmoozing with the likes of CNBC and Fox Business News, Wall Street would be better off creating their own network (they haven't done that yet, right?). Than at least no one can dispute who they're rooting for. And we also won't get another round of "It Ain't My Fault: Rich People Edition." I think we all can learn something from this ordeal; I know I have: Zucker doesn't know the difference between, "This is all your fault!" and "Because of the role you play, your actions/...
