Cenk Uygur Cracks Under The Reality Of His Failing Pro-Democrat Empire

Image
Like I said before, the Left has a Cenk Uygur problem . Aside from ego , cognitive dissonance and ineffective side quests , a big part of that problem is that Uygur still believes that the key to the success of leftist ideas lies through the Democratic Party:

We Can Stop Pretending That Democrats (or Republicans) Are Trying to "Help."

Between Kamala Harris' staff acting completely vacant  and  Cenk Uygur doing a 180 on MAGA , from fear being used yet again as a prime motivator for the Black vote to some people taking another look at what Bernie Sanders was trying to tell people back in 2016 , it's become all to clear that "Democrats vs Republicans" is, to paraphrase Chris Hedges , really "Corporatists vs Oligarchs;" two factions of capitalists battling it out over who gets to absorb and abuse the wealth of the working class and poor.  Justice Democrats was a failure; the "Squad" - a loose collection of quasi-progressive Democrats spurned on by Kyle Kulinski and Cenk Uygur - was quickly co-opted. Movement for a People's Party fell under the weight of allegations against it's leader who - allegations aside - did nothing to built a state/local powerbase and eventually left to help Robert Kennedy Jr.'s campaign (and continues to support the latter's political caree...

TYT Scrambles To Find a Way to Support Kamala Harris After Committing Their Vote To Her.

Sabby Sabbs: Beware the "Fake Left"

Image
Much like Due Dissidence , Sabby note those who claim that they are on the American left turn on a dime to support the Democrats now that Kamala Harris has replaced Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket.  Once again, they jump on adjacent bandwagons for clicks and subscribers, but "come back" home in time for the election.   Sabby also make a good point that these channels tend to be dependent on political candidates (you only have to watch any of their videos not focused on a presidential candidate or political party to confirm this). Remember: anytime these Young Turks claim Breaking Points with the Democrat Party it's really all Secular Talk.

TYT Would Rather Support Comedians For Higher Office Than Fight For Actual Political Change

Image
Like Keaton said, when you're channel revolves around electoral politics, this is what you wind up doing. With their audience, The Young Turks should be telling people to hit the streets over every issue they feel passionate about instead of putting all their hopes in phantom candidates (or real ones that are deeply flawed).

Sabby Sabbs: Egos Hurt Political Movements

Watching Sabby's review of the BJG/Cenk video, it's hard to come to any other conclusion. Thing is, she's right:

Cenk Uygur Is Running For President.

Image
This is not a joke. Well, not an intentional one: Unlike RFK Jr. and Cornel West , Uygur has decided to run as a Democrat . And yes, as Ron and Kit have mentioned, Uygur will have some legal/constitutional hurdles as he was not born in the United States.  Also: Uygur's robust platform  has a total of four policy issues: Time Off for Mothers - Paid Family Leave  Higher Wages - $15 Minimum Wage  Affordable Health Insurance – Public Option  Fight Corruption – End Gerrymandering  Not sure if foreign policy will be added later. He does have a book coming out though.

Cenk Uygar Claims There Was No Evidence Of Election Misconduct in 2016, Ignores the Work of His Own Channel (The Young Turks)

Props to Hard Lens Media for noticing this oversight (and with Cenk it could either be on purpose or because for him it was more important to make his point):

Due Dissidence on Cenk Uygur on TYT

Image
I've mentioned (one of)  the problems with Cenk Uygur before , and now Keaton and Russell go over the most recent ordeal: Bottom line: a lot of people (including many in TYT's audience) have move on and moved to the left of the channel and it's hosts. If TYT thinks those to the left of them can't be effective in achieving change, then they should argue in that arena and not call them "secret right-wingers." Otherwise (as DD shows), they will continue to attacked by the audience they cultivated.

Sabby Sabbs: Debate/Discussion Between Bad Faith and The Young Turks Highlights Left Divide.

There are those willing to push those in power in order to get change (revolutionaries) and those who believe that working with those in power is the best way to get change (reformists). And then there are those who are more caught up in personalities than polices:

The Cenk Uygur "Problem" Highlights Both How Far The Left Has Come, & How Much More Work There Is To Do

For some very good takes, visit Jimmy Dore , Secular Talk , Niko House and Status Coup (Chariton talks about it for the first 20+ minutes or so). Please note that of these four, House is the only one who has not had a "working with TYT relationship" with Uygur. The ordeal does tell me two things: The Establishment is scared to death of anyone left of center politically. They will never bring up that Uygur was in his Rush Limbaugh Republican Lite days (let's not forget that Ed Schultz was of the same mold before he realized that the GOP were not champions of the working class; so people can change). They won't because the goal was to discredit the policies he advocates, not necessarily his character. And as House points out, there is plenty to critique Uygur on ( like the Jeffrey Katzenberg ). The attacks on Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard are well known in left/progressive circles. Dore, Kyle Kulinski, House and Chariton are always talking about how everyone ...

Left-Leaning Opinion/News Hosts Try To Have a Dialogue With Right-Leaning Nutjobs; Goes About As Well As One Would Expect

Via Democratic Underground: Lawrence O'Donnell asks Orly Taitz about Obama's birth certificate release, she tries to talk about Obama's social security number, Lawrence kicks her ass off . Cenk Uygar asks Joseph Farah if he's satisfied now; Farah says no because "the government" released the document and Obama's father was not a US citizen, Cenk puts him on the crazy train . I hate to say this, but on top of the blatant racism of pressuring a black man to prove his legitimacy in this day an age, this modern day racist witch hunt has, for one day, allowed the MSNBC haters to compare O'Donnell to (serial mic-cutter) Bill O'Reilly and Uygar to (Mr. If-You-Don't-Agree-With-Me-You-Suck) Sean Hannity. I will not be surprised to see any "Both sides do it!" posts over the next few days. Again, it's neither of these guys' fault, but you can't engage crazy without consequences to your own image and/or well-being. I hope that Cenk an...
