John Kerry on his and Joe Biden's interpretation of the Iraq War : “I think Bernie is regrettably distorting Joe’s record,” Kerry, a Biden campaign surrogate, said Sunday on CBS “Face the Nation.”   He added that Sanders “doesn’t have what Joe Biden has,” in terms of eight years on the national security council.   Kerry continued that he knows “very well what Joe’s position” since he answered the same questions in 2003 and 2004, when he was running for president.   “ It was very clear that what we were doing was listening to a president that made a pledge, that he was going to do diplomacy, he was going to exhaust diplomacy build a coalition , and ultimately we learned, as Joe did and I did, that the intelligence was distorted,” Kerry said.   “So Joe spoke out and criticized, Joe was against what they were doing,” he added. Seriously . There's  a few ways to look at this: Romney's attacks on Obama on this issue isn't working, so he's going after someone who's not really involved in the 2012 Elections. Romney is attacking the wife of the guy who lost the election in 2004. What good comes from that? Spouses don't run for office, so unless Romney's insinuating that Kerry's wife was hiding money for Kerry, who cares if she didn't release her tax returns? The more excuses Romney comes up with about this, the less his "experience" at Bain will count as a strength. He can't just use the simple line of, "I ran Bain, it was successful, and I'll run the country in the same manner." They're calling John Kerry's endorsement of Barack Obama a "snub"; but that's not necessarily true ( if you believe Robert Shrum , that is). But this does invite an interesting question: why hasn't Edwards garnered the big-name endorsements ? I mean, his donors are more well-known. Is it that none of the congressional Democrats think he can beat the star power of Clinton and Obama? Is it that they don't support his populism message? Or did Shrum's story make it's way through the Senate and House, thereby poisoning Edwards' chance of getting too much party support? While having the people support you is admirable, you need at least three things to make a presidential run work: money, primary wins, and major endorsements. Edwards has yet to hit this trifecta.
