NBA Players So Impactful, The League Had to Make Specific Rules Regarding Them.

In Terms of Voting, the NBA Is More Considerate Than the Government.

The NBA will not have any games on Election Day . Now why can't the government declare Election Day a federal holiday?

Picture This: Where's Barack Obama?

Image
The Jean-Luc Picard of the Democratic Party, who had no problem keeping the NBA from protesting or consolidating support around Joe Biden to help sink Bernie Sanders' chance of winning the 2020 primary, is noticeably absent as Joe Manchin has decided to decapitate Biden's (supposedly) signature legislation. Anything to the left of Democratic Party Leadership is a threat .

(Once Again) Barack Obama Pretends That He Wasn't President

Image
What did he do to, "reimagine policing and public safety in this country?" What bills were signed into law, what executive orders were issued? And even if he did push something that was overwritten by Trump (something Trump was prone to do) would Obama mention that? Wouldn't he say, "We have to go back to the effective policies that were enacted during my administration?" Remember, this guy had an army of volunteers who helped get him elected, and he left them on the White House lawn as soon as the inauguration was over. Wouldn't they have come in handy in enacting police reform? In the end, this is all Obama has: optimistic platitudes. He tends to oscillate between this and squashing and true movements from the Left (both of Bernie Sanders' presidential campaigns, the NBA wanting to boycott the 2020-2021 Season over George Floyd's murder, etc.)

Sports Stuff

Phil Jackson is hired by the Detroit Pistons t help find a coach , much like Dick Cheney was hired to help George W. bush find a vice presidential candidate I'm sure. On the other hand, if it doesn't work out, Jackson can deflect the blame and just say Detroit didn't listen to him. The 49ers rookie QB has impressed some... but he may need a watch, a phone and an agent .

A Question For Chris Broussard

Since you're not going to really apologize and you've decided to argue an "openly living in unrepentant sin" angle, when will you begin condemning all of the other athletes who are having sex before marriage, using drugs, abusing their significant others and drinking heavily? I think most people already know the answer.

Wizards Fans Know Two Things About LeBron James

He travels and fouls with reckless abandon yet rarely gets called for it, and he whines like a baby when things don't go his way. Despite the downplaying of the Heat's winning streak, i t's obvious that it meant something to the guy . But instead of complaining about the officiating, he should just accept that teams are going to target him because he's currently the best player in the NBA and he's on the best team in the NBA.

Wizard's GM Ernie Grunfeld Doesn't Know What The Fuck He's Doing

This Wizards' story by Jason Reid all but says this . Sure, Grunfeld knows how to cash the checks owner Ted Leonsis is writing for him, but with a record of drafting bums, burnouts or mix-matched pieces, the guy (who's more well known for trades anyway) seems to be the anti-thesis to Leonsis' "build through the draft philosophy." Sadly, that's the only way the Wizards are gonna build a winner because free agents (still) don't want to come here.

The Lakers Chose Mike D'Antoni Because...

Well, the possible reasons include : Kobe doesn't want Phil Jackson to coach again. Jackson made too many demands for the Lakers' Top Brass. Mike D'Antoni's style is more fast-paced, which Kobe seems to prefer. While Jackson did deal with the egos, the plays were more or less designed by Tex Winter, who is no longer around.  D'Antoni has more to prove than Jackson. D'Antoni is cheaper than Jackson. The Lakers may have had to undergo a bigger roster change with Jackson, aka, Reason #6. Jackson only likes coming in when a team is on the brink of winning a championship, and the Lakers aren't close.

Potential Mega-Deal To Make Dwight Howard a Laker In The Works

It might not happen , but the fact they're trying? Good on 'em.

Quote of the Day

" So what? The Celtics have been getting by without Lens for nearly 30 years. " -- "Steve U;" it makes sense in context ...well, almost .

Double-Whammy For Portland

The Trailblazers seem to want to clean house big-time, getting rid of their former #1 pick and their coach back-to-back.

Lamar Odom Gets Sent To The NBA Developmental League

This is big and unprecedented for professional basketball . And while I can see some people react with, "I guess Khloe's gonna dump him now," for me it's just a really sad chapter in the story of a very talented player who was a major contributor to a championship team not too long ago.

Lakers Have To Deal With Their Crazy, Underperforming Talent

He's lost a step offensively (no biggie) and defensively (his calling card) and now after 13 seasons his role is changing... but he's not ready to accept it .

The New Orleans Hornets Are So Lucky

Why can't the Wizards get this guy to do the intros?
