No; Just No.

"No" to AOC . "No" to Kamala Harris . "No" to Gavin Newsom . "No" to Pete Buttigieg . "No" to any Democrat who is not for the following at least: Universal Healthcare (as in, declare a national health emergency and give every American Medicare); End the occupation and genocide in Gaza (they know exactly which people and country to contact); End ICE (as in, ICE is no more; no "reforms"); Raise taxes on the wealthiest 3% of Americans; Tie the Minimum Wage to Wall Street (If Wall Street makes $$$, than MW earners make more $$$); Cut the military budget by at least 60%. End all tariffs and sanctions.  If they cannot agree to all of the above, they should not even be considered a candidate for president. And while we're talking about asks, here's a few more: Eliminate the AUMF and give Congress back the power to declare war; Bring back the draft; Invite DC and Puerto Rico to become states, and give Hawaii a chance to contin...

Pete Buttigieg Is Not Getting The Support of Black Voters.

The Democratic Primary So Far

Joe Biden : For someone who is pulling in more older voters, Biden doesn't seem to be pushing for the issues they would car about . In fact, it's almost like he's pushing people to vote for other candidates . Maybe because his past is catching up to him? Also, his temper is starting to get the better of him .  Amy Klobuchar : She's repeating the same joke over and over ; hoping to gain ground. Elizabeth Warren : She wants to punish anyone found guilty of "misinformation."  Michael Bloomberg : He's shaking a dog's face .  Tulsi Gabbard : She's campaigning in New Hampshire, calling for the legalizing of drugs , voting on the right side of history and making Hillary Clinton squirm . Pete Buttigieg : is doing a convincing Jeb Bush impersonation .  Andrew Yang : He's making good use of Dave Chappelle's help and leaves the door open for his supporters to aid another candidate.  Bernie Sanders : He's not acting like a candidate ...

Three Reasons Pete Buttigieg Is Getting Next-To-No Black Support (And He Doesn't Deserve It)

The black teenager who was beaten and tasered by police who mistakenly identified him as a suspect, sued and was award $18 . The black teenager who was found hung after getting into a argument with another teen; it was declared a suicide and his body was cremated without an autopsy. Buttigieg's contradiction regarding body cameras , after the first two incidents and the recent shooting.  Some of the article from #1:  The family of a black teenager who was punched and handcuffed by three South Bend police officers then subdued with a stun gun in a case of mistaken identity is questioning why jurors awarded them just $18 in a lawsuit accusing the officers of violating his constitutional rights. "We're black, so we automatically lose," the young man's father, Dan Franklin, told the South Bend Tribune. "The boy should've got something  —  they punched him, shot him in the side with a Taser gun — but we had nobody on our side." In its Au...

2020 Democratic Debate, Part 4: CNN Tries to Make Lemonade Out of Rocks

Thanks to some very awesome Youtubers , I was able to view last night's debate through a non-corporate lens. I won't do the "Winner/Losers" thing, but I will give my impression on their overall effectiveness: Joe Biden : He's pretty much riding off name recognition at this point. Combined with the fact that (1) his polls are based on landline calls and (2) most of his supporters don't watch news stories related to him, he's fairly insulated from just having a massive drop. In other words: as long as older voters (and the media) keep propping him up, Biden's not going anywhere. Which is said, because you have to sift through his word salad to find any real points, and most of the time those points are either common-sense or too wonky for the average voter to care about. In short, he's not beating President Trump on a debate stage, and he's not going to convince many former-Obama-voters-turned-Trump-voters to switch back.  Kamala Harris : It...

"Blue No Matter Who" Forces Progressives and Democrats to Make Excuses for DINOs

So Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards signed a fetal heartbeat ( six weeks , BTW) bill into law. Normally, left-leaning Americans would go after Governor Edwards hard for this, as a majority of those who vote Democrat range from being pro-choice to supporting abortion under specific circumstances (rape, incest, health of the mother, etc.). But we live in the Age of Team Politics , where you can be as conservative as you want even if you're a Democrat, and other Democratic voters/supporters will bend over backwards to justify deviations from traditional positions. Websites that have been referenced here in the past are a good example of how Team Politics has shrouded ideological perspectives. The reactions/comments on  Daily Kos and Democratic Underground , for example, has mostly ranged from   this is the price we pay for being a big tent    and better a Democrat than a Republican (although DU has, to be fair, more willing to challenge the status quo )...
