Tucker Has a Show on Russian Television? Actually...

Interesting : Conservative TV host Tucker Carlson has launched his own show on a Russian state television channel. The former Fox News anchor is presenting the program Tucker on the rolling news channel Russia 24, with the first episode now available online, Russian state newspaper Rossiskya Gazyeta reported. The paper said that the show is part of a joint project with Carlson TV, in which he will interview figures and politicians who have "alternative views to the mainstream."  Apparently, there have been some joke-stealing and falsehoods told about who was supposed to get what role in which movies, and Katt wants to set the record straight:

The "Popular" vs "Freaks and Geeks" Crossover I Never Knew I Wanted

Trying to avoid what happened to Erol's and Blockbuster before them, Netflix is looking to capitalize on the success/popularity of programs like of Stranger Things, Cobra Kai and The Umbrella Academy and be home to their own "Star Wars"-like franchise .  I think one key difference is that the companies Netflix is trying to emulate (Disney, Warner Bros, Sony, etc.) are more than just TV and movies and dabble in all different forms of entertainment, both as products and services. Netflix may be better off trying to make/purchase their own phone or internet service first.

If You're An Older Black Man in the Marvel Netflix Universe, You're Probably Going to Die

Image
I was hoping that this unfortunate pattern would be broken with "The Defenders," but alas, once again, an older black man died on a Netflix Marvel show. um... SPOILERS ! Of all the pros and cons of the team-up series and each character's respective shows (and personally, I still think the good outweighs the bad) this is the most annoying. To wit (most of these guys can be found under tvtrope's MCU:New York citizens entry): Daredevil : Ben Urich; choked to death by the Kingpin (with his bare freaking hands, no less). Urich and Karen Paige were both digging into Fisk's history for dirt, but Karen managed to slip past Fisk's radar.  Jessica Jones : Detective First Grade Oscar Clemons; shot in the head by Will Simpson. By the time this had happened, Simpson was hopped up on pseudo-super soldier performance enhancers, not to mention an obsession with keeping Jessica's step-sister/best friend safe. Clemons was basically in the wrong place at the wr...
