If John Paul Stevens does retire soon, U.S. Solicitor General Elena Kagan and federal appellate judges Diane Wood and Merrick Garland are among those in the running.

FYI: considering that all three are connected to Bill Clinton and Wood and Garland are from Illinois, there will be a partisan battle.
