Some People Just Don't Get The Internet...
...and my personal theory is: they are people who either don't understand the concept of discretion or don't have an occupation that involves sexual (real or simulated) activity.
Example: An old friend was telling me a story about how he visited a strip club some years back. The strippers were attractive and entertaining. The crowd was lively and energetic. There were some hiccups (strippers trying to compete over who gets the good tipper, some patrons acting like assclowns) but overall, everyone had a good time.
When I asked if he had any pics, my friend replied, "Sure," and showed me a picture of one on the strippers in a nightgown. When I asked him if there where any pics during that night, he replied, "No, of course not. Cameras aren't allowed. These ladies aren't planning on doing this long-term and the last thing they need is a video clip playing on someone's laptop while they're trying to do an interview. Besides that, if people have pics and clips, why would anyone bother to show up to any events?"
Point is, just about everyone involved understood the thin line between "having fun" and "being exposed to the world."
Then you have everyone else, people who want to have fun and are/were so caught up in the fun they didn't think about how that "fun" would come to bite them in the butt later on in life. I mean, seriously; this is 2010 and odds are you're being recorded right now, you just don't know the medium. It just astounds me that celebrities, athletes and politicians still at all shocked when a video of them butt-naked french-kissing a pig in a giant tub of Jello starts making its rounds on the Internet. They should have known then that once they hit it big and start making the rounds on television, anything recorded will be used to damage them, blackmail them, or just for kicks.
I guess what I'm trying to say is: this type of crap is getting really old.
