 At least that's the implication of this story. Now if Russia was really losing this this conflict (instead of making NATO burn through ammo and weapons) would the media really be running these quasi-political human interest stories? 

When the US was bombing Iraq and Afghanistan into the Stone Age, were there stories like this being pushed? Probably not, considering.
