Why even bother with primaries if  so many  (from this sample) just want the party leadership (most who aren't elected themselves) to pick the nominee? There's still time for the people to make a decision, but no, they prefer that the choice be made in the shadows without so much as a debate. (Note: this is a "national sample of 1,071 registered voters" and about 33% of registered voters -a little over 53 million- are Democrats).

  So on top of the quiet coup (forcing Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race) party leadership rigs the "options" for a third time (hint: the last two times involved Bernie Sanders freaking out the establishment by being popular with voters). The Democrats continue to thwart the democratic process in the name of saving democracy from the Republicans (who are no better, yet still find time to listen to their base).

  Suffice it to say, there's been a lot of conversation about Joe Biden's decision . Here's my take: The Duran is correct that this is a coup. Biden did not want to leave and by the standards/system set up by the Democratic Party, he was well within his rights to stay. The American mainstream media, suddenly concerned Democrats, and panicked donors (the biggest factor here) forced him out.  That said, the DNC did make an argument in court that they can choose their nominee with voter's consent/input. Also, since Biden hasn't officially been assigned (and accepted) the delegates, lawsuits on Biden's behalf will probably go nowhere.  The DNC should have held real primaries and therefore avoided all this. Biden should have kept his initial word of being a one-termer. Biden's inner circle (who were most likely making a lot of his decisions up until now) should be investigated; we'll probably learn more once he officially leaves office. Biden is still POT

 

The guys are right: by the Democrat's own (manipulated) rules, Biden is supposed to be the nominee. It's not the voter's fault the DNC decided not to have official primaries or take a serious look into Biden's physical and mental condition. Nevertheless, we must remember that the party told a court of law that they can choose their nominee through any means they see fit (I believe they invoked the proverbial "smoke-filled backroom" in their argument).

Current US President Joe Biden has said in interviews that one way he'd consider not running for re-election (despite the obvious decline mentally and physically) was is their was a health concern. Well, now we learn that Biden has COVID . The very illness/issue that helped usher him into the White House (mainly because of Trump's poor handling) can help Biden make a more graceful exit (if he so chooses). Who would have guess that a virus that neither president (or either political party, for that matter) handled well would still be a factor?   Of course, they'll be speculation that it's not COVID but rather allergies or the flu, but if it give Democrats a chance to re-energize their party ahead of the convention, I'm sure they'll take what they can get.

To elaborate : a White man who witnesses say had a gun in plain view climbing to the roof of a building that was within shooting distance of a presidential candidate was downplayed/ignored until the shooting starts, but two Black homeless people -one with a knife- is enough of a threat to people inside another building to warrant immediate action.

Niko delved into the more conspiratorial aspects a bit more, while Placone was more straight-forward about how this would impact the election. What's also interesting about this ordeal is: Trump supporters blaming Democrats and Obama (you know the people they used to call "wimps" for wanting stricter gun laws). That people at the rally claimed to have seen the shooter, but were ignored by security. That Trump is using the "Black Power Fist Pose" unironically.  Trump once bragged about taking out foreign leaders.

 This is sad to see, especially considering that if this was a "President Bernie Sanders" or "President Jill Stein" liberals would be falling over themselves to find a network willing to hear their message that, "the president is no longer fit to continue." Also, as much as Reid blames Democrats for "picking" Biden, let's remember that for the 2020 Democratic Party Barack Obama convinced all the Democrats to drop out and support Biden against Sanders, and for 2024 the DNC ignored calls for a primary and pretending that challengers like RFK, Jr. and Williamson didn't exist.
