 Summary:  Eric Adams has a multitude of legal and political problems that have ended any political ambitions he may have had. Donald Trump may have kept him from going to jail, but in seeking a lifeline from a president hated by most New Yorkers, he has sealed his fate and will go down in history as the anti-Black, Black mayor.  Margret Kimberley pretty much sums it up : New York City's mayor isn't just a self-interested member of the Black political class. He is also singularly incompetent and lacking in the most basic political skills. After a Black man was publicly murdered on the subway, Adams saw no need to go through the motions of expressing appropriate concern. New Yorkers are protesting but the clueless mayor insists that he can only mouth tin eared platitudes that please his most racist constituents. Obama had an uncanny ability to seem concerned about issues while doing next-to-nothing about addressing them. This ability helped protect him in the black community (black Democrats in particular). Not every black politicians has this gift.

 In "political Frankenstein" news : Former NYPD cop Eric Adams surfed into the New York City Mayor’s office on a wave of sensationalist crime coverage  by mainstream media. Adams was happy to use the non-stop, hyperbolic coverage of crime, as well as the fear engendered in the public  by that coverage, in order to justify doubling down on NYC’s racist police state. However, now that he’s been mayor for almost a year and will have to accept credit or blame for what’s happening in the city, Adams is suddenly trying to assure people that the public perception and media coverage of crime doesn’t line up with reality. Unfortunately for him, regardless of the facts, mainstream local media refuse to stop their exaggerated crime coverage. In fact, Adams is being told that he is in “Fantasy Land.”

 Despite the sad events that occurred earlier today at the NYC substation , New York and America will need to brace for the inverse of what happens when there's a school shooting. In that (sadly reoccurring) instance the pundits and politicians would say something to the effect of, " Please don't make this political by talking about gun control or gun regulations; now's not the time ." Don't be surprised that in this instance, instead of keeping mum some of the same pundits and politicians start talking about funding police more...despite their actual productivity / output . UPDATE: As if on cue, the NYC mayor calls for more cops .
