Newt Gingrich Is (Once Again) Late To The Party

After finally realizing that he has no chance of winning the GOP nomination, the former Speaker of the House decides to attack Fox News . He really should have been paying attention .

Thoughts From Last Night's Primary

The numerical results really show us something many have suspected: Mitt Romney will have a hard time in the South. Is it because he's Mormon? Is it because he finds it hard to relate to "the Common Man?" Who knows? Bottom line is he spent a whole bunch of money only to come in third. Social conservatives just aren't into him. I hear that the calls for Newt Gingrich to quit will get louder, so Rick Santorum can make it an official two-man race. Why? Gingrich makes a good point that Santorum is not the perfect conservative candidate. In truth, none of them are. Romney represents the establishment and wealthy components of the GOP. Santorum represents the social conservatives. Gingrich represents the intellectual punditry and fiscal conservative crowd (and that mainly comes from the fact that the budget was balanced under his Speakership; whether he was directly responsible for that is another matter). And Ron Paul represents the (mostly young) Republicans who don...

Abridged Pollitics: the 2012 GOP Primary Candidates Arguments

I think we're far enough along in the 2012 Primary to know what the message each of the remaining candidates is trying to convey to the American people: Mitt Romney : Despite the fact that I'm ridiculously wealthy and belong to a religion that's as unpopular as Islam in my party, I'm just like the average joe. Ignore my past political compromising with Democrats except when you need to make an argument that I can attract independent voters. The only thing that truly sets me apart from the other candidates is that I was part of a very profitable business, which somehow translates to me being able to run the United States . Ron Paul : I've decided to adapt Obama's 2004 primary caucus strategy in a very disturbing way: make delegates change their minds after they had already selected a candidate on their state's designated night. I love the Constitution so much that I wish to fundamentally dismantle the government it created. Please ignore the fact that I...

"Reagan Populist Conservative"

Newt Gingrich is a politician who chooses his words very carefully . That "populist" in "Reagan populist conservative" is meant to attract independents. The "Reagan" is for old-school Republicans. And we all know what the "conservative" stands for (especially after his romp in South Carolina). We should also know to be very cautious when a Republican labels themselves a "[fill in the blank] conservative" like George W. Bush (" compassionate conservative ") did.

Establishment Republicans To The Tea Party/Conservative Base: "Shut The Fuck Up And Vote For Romney!"

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy The rallying has begun . While some haven't picked a side yet , other more prominent figures in the GOP are telling the GOP base and the upstart Tea Party that Mitt Romney and his Bain experiences are off-limits. And may God help you if you are Newt Gingrich or Rick Perry , who see themselves as advocates for those two groups. As Rachel states, this re-enactment of the 2008 GOP primary is also questioning the power of the Tea Party. They seemed to be formidable back in 2009, and according to the political pundits they were the force behind the GOP re-taking the House in 2010. But so far, they have had little-to-no influence on the GOP candidate, and some want it to stay that way . And if we learned anything about GOP politics since 2000, it's that when Rush and Fox News has spoken, the dissenters eventually fall in line. As the months slog on, watch for talk that Romney is the most conservative ...

Newt Gingrich Is Smoking Crack

He says that " there is no Supreme Court in the American Constitution ." Then why did the GOP spend so much time, money and resources packing it with ultra-conservatives?

That Didn't Take Long

Even though Newt Gingrich slammed the Paul Ryan budget , his apparent hypocrisy over the issue seems to be enough to make him moonwalk the issue .
