Barack Obama Switches Into "Above It All" Mode Whenever He's Confronted.

Image
Very few presidents have treated their tenure as if they were constantly constrained, unable to wield the awesome power bestowed on them by the people. Barack Obama was one of those presidents (except, of course when it came to choosing candidates):

Super Bowl halftime Performer Banned for Showing Support For Showing Support To Palestine and Sudan

Image
From CBS News : A performer at Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime show unfurled a flag emblazoned with the words Sudan and Gaza in a protest over the two wars roiling the Middle East. Security personnel at the stadium detained the performer shortly after the flag was waved atop a car used as a prop in the performance. New Orleans police said the man was ejected from the stadium after the incident, and no arrest or summons was issued.  The NFL said the person would be banned for life from NFL stadiums and events. "We commend security for quickly detaining the individual who displayed the flag. He was a part of the 400-member field cast. The individual hid the item on his person and unveiled it late in the show. No one involved with the production was aware of the individual's intent," the league said. Second American Since Last December Self-Immolates Over Israel

The last person did so in front of the Israeli consulate , this time it was at the Israeli Embassy : An active-duty member of the U.S. Air Force has died after he set himself ablaze outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., while declaring that he “will no longer be complicit in genocide.” The 25-year-old airman, Aaron Bushnell, of San Antonio, Texas, died from his injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department said Monday. Bushnell had walked up to the embassy shortly before 1 p.m. on Sunday and began livestreaming on the video streaming platform Twitch, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. Law enforcement officials believe the man started a livestream, set his phone down and then doused himself in accelerant and ignited the flames. At one point, he said he “will no longer be complicit in genocide,” the person said. The video was later removed from the platform, but law enforcement officials have obtained and reviewed a copy.

A Simple Question Regarding January 6th @ The Capitol

For those who downplay the violence that did occur, or argue that what happened amounted to little more than a visit that became rowdy, I have a simple question: "Why didn't any Congressperson invite these 'guests' inside to witness a peaceful transfer of power?" If they were never a threat, than those in Congress who are defending them should have invited them inside. If their presence was sanctioned, the police should have (1) allowed them inside and (2) had enough staff to accommodate their "visit."
