 How does Russia oscillate between being a threat to America to being easily beatable by Ukraine to being a future WW3 opponent to being too old/slow/incompetent to hold a city? 

I'd give links here, but the narrative changes so much the links would be outdated in a week or two. Just do a search for those phrases (or something similar) and try to make sense of it.

But this is a tool of the propagandist: confuse the audience to the point where they'll believe anything just so they won't have to think too much and/or too hard.
