What's Important (According to Mainstream Cable News)
If you're an American who's wondering why their situation hasn't improved despite going back-and-forth politically from Republicans to Democrats to Republicans almost every other election cycle, keep in mind two things:
- You don't have the money to influence either of the two major parties; AND
- The media is influencing what's important to talk about.
For example, here's MSNBC's current front page:
And here's Fox News:
And lastly, here's CNN:

As for Fox News, we should be paying attention to:
And going by CNN's front page, our focus should be on:
Notice what they aren't talking about:
- Why rich people and corporations made record profits during COVID-19
- Why Biden didn't roll back Trump's tax "reform" bill, which resulted in a lot of non-rich people paying more in taxes
- How any of the topics they are talking about truly impact your wallet.
Look at it this way: every story you see on these sites is a variation of, "Here's why you should vote for X." That's all it is. The degree that you're being informed is based on how deep into electoral politics you are. If you don't support the two-party model, if you feel that the leadership of both follow the same privileged group of warmongering capitalists, than only a few of these stories are relevant to your life. Everything else is an attempt to either prod you from one party to the other, or confirm your bias.
