A Reminder About Political Gatekeepers
Political Gatekeepers (PG) are a tricky bunch. They have representatives on both the right and left of the political spectrum, so neither side can claim a monopoly. At first glance, they actually seem like they want real fundamental change, and some may even position themselves as influencers or leaders of the movement of the moment.
But there are some signs that reveal their true identity:
- You Can Never Be More "Left" Or "Right" Than They Are: Be careful when objecting over a policy or a tactic; you may be dubbed "extreme" or "alt." The PGs are standard-barer, and even if you're on the same side most of the time, the times you are not it will be you who are in the wrong. The full wrath of a PG will come out if your objection threatens their bottom line, which is usually connected to the movement, it's leader(s), and/or the political infrastructure. Which leads to...
- You Cannot Ever Challenge the Overall Leader of the Movement. The Leader is flawless. Even if the Leader has flaws, we can't talk about those now, because if we admit that the Leader is flawed, the Movement is vulnerable. If the Movement proves vulnerable, it may fail. If the Movement fails, the PGs will have to find something else to champion and live off of, and that's a lot of work. Best to ignore the flaws and press forward.
- Alternatives to the Current Political Infrastructure Will Not Be Tolerated. If the system has two major parties like the United States, then everything viable happens in that structure. From legislature to judicial to executive, we must operate in that system and not deviate. No other political parties or alternative movements. No attempts to try and create another sub-society. No socio-economic proposals that aren't part of the current system. Trying to participate in any of these initiatives will get you labeled "extreme" or "alt."
- Their Connection to the Mainstream. PGs are usually connected to the mainstream, either in their past or in the present. Mainstream Media, Mainstream Political Party, Mainstream Government, Mainstream Business. There's really no such things as someone who "used to" work for the CIA, MSNBC, the DNC, Meta, FoxNews, the FBI, Google, the Republican Party, CNN, AIPAC, Goldman Sachs, and others. These are the places that give the PGs their indoctrination, and while their are some noticeable variations, none of these entities wants to change the system for the benefit of the masses.
So watch for things like, "Vote Blue No Matter Who" or "Trumper for Life." Be careful of those who make snide comments about protests and strikes being ineffective. Look into those who claim that they were "once with intelligence" yet the intelligence community never treated them like a traitor.
Some people are "on your side" because that's where the gate is, and their job is to mind it.
