What the Hell What Hillary Clinton Saying?
Seriously, I'm confused as to what the message was supposed to be.
If I go by the Slate Women (those being Melinda Henneberger, Dahlia Lithwick, and Meghan O'Rourke) it was a threat/promise to accomplish what just about every Democrat wants to do, but on her terms, lest the Democratic Party be torn asunder.
My opinion? The speech was Tracy Flick, Operation: Uncle Ruckus and the 7-Minute Ab Argument all rolled into one.
She has to know the power she wields over her supporters, so either she doesn't care or she's purposely inviting an environment where they will no doubt become more hostile and defensive as people (whether Obama supporters, the media, or some people associated from her camp) make calls for Clinton to officially drop out of the race.
I'm quite confident that if someone would tell a Clinton supporter that Ron Paul is still technically running for the GOP nod, they would respond with derision. So the question is: is the margin of victory a prime factor here? Is the justification for Clinton not conceding based on the closeness of the final tally?
