Hillary Clinton Lost Because...
Of course there are those who aren't buying the old excuses. To be honest, with everything that's happened over the last few months, it's hard to discern reality from speculation at this point.
My gut (which I rarely use in these cases, even though it's been more right than wrong recently) tells me that Clinton lost the Democratic base when she voted for the war. And to reclaim that lost block her campaign did things that I'm sure wouldn't have happened had she held a lead (both in polling and in delegates). That's it; I don't have any deep-probing analysis here (I'm from the GZA-School of explanations).
Nevertheless, she managed to accept reality, and turned out to be a class act in the end. And isn't that the type of ending people like?
P.S. Slate's XX Factor were at the washingtonpost.com for a discussion on the topic as well.
