LOST: Even The Best Daddies Have Cowboy Issues
LOST brings us a traditional Jack-centric episode (where off-Island it's as boring as watching paint dry, and on-Island it's pretty well entertaining) but with the added bonus that the Island stuff wasn't exactly focused on Jack: our favorite doctor and reluctant leader was being guided by the ever-fun Hugo! BTW: I wasn't the only one who noticed this.
DISCOVERIES
- Um, the Lighthouse...which is totally awesome.
- Claire is buddy-buddy with the Locke-less Monster.
- Kate actually plans on finding Claire; it's wasn't a ruse or moment of emotional irrationality.
- Despite being dead, Jacob is still communicating with Hugo.
- Claire knows how to use an axe.
- Last episode, Locke-less Monster took Sawyer to his supposed home away from home: a dark cave hidden in the side of a cliff on the Island. This episode, Jacob guided Hugo and Jack to his HAFH: a lighthouse.
- The depth of the X-world gets deeper: Jack has a son, Dogen never went to the island, and Dogen has a son as well.
- In White Rabbit, Jack made a discovery on the Island that was connected to him and reacted with anger, which he told Hugo about. This foreshadows his actions in this episode, where he discoveries that the Lighthouse was set up, in part, to watch his boyhood home.
- This episodes marks one of the few times Kate is doing her own thing and neither chases nor teams up with Jack or Sawyer.
- Sayid's lines are more expository than usual. Yeesh.
QUESTIONS
- How did Claire learn to fight, trap, torture and use guns?
- Why isn't Claire at the cabin, or the beach?
- How did the Others capture Claire? How the hell did she escape?
- How did Jin know that it was Kate, specifically, who took Aaron? He came with Sun and Aaron on the raft, and wasn't on the helicopter to see Kate take Aaron.
- Had Jack not gone batshit crazy, what was the rest of Hugo's mission?
