 Simply put: while it may be temporarily satisfying to ridicule people for losing their jobs, this could potentially impact the unemployment numbers in a way that hurts Democrats in the midterms. 

COVID-19 is still new, and people have a right to be skeptical. Not willfully ignorant, but skeptical.
