LOST: "Cabin Fever" Comments
Thoughts on last night's episode:
- So is Richard Alpert immortal or what? If he shows in a future episode with a sword screaming "There can only be One?" I would not be surprised.
- We find out that (potentially at least) John Locke was to be a Man of Science, but he chose to be a Man of Faith. Of course this contrasts with Jack, who's always preferred to embrace science over faith, despite seeing his dead father trolling around in the jungle.
- Speaking of Christian Shephard, why is he speaking for Jacob (out of all the people who died on the island)? Does it have anything to do with the fact that Claire was just chillin' in the corner?
- Speaking of Claire: WTF? You left your baby in the damn jungle...the same jungle that has a wild boar, traps set by a "crazy French chick," a malevolent smoke monster, polar bears, ghosts, and (now) a commando unit hell-bent on killing anyone not wearing army fatigues. And you did this for the guy who pissed you off so much, when you last saw him you said you didn't even want to know his name. What the hell changed? Why are in the cabin? WHY THE FUCK DID YOU LEAVE YOUR KID?!?
- I'm sorry, but I can't let this go: Claire was lounging in the back corner like she just finished a spliff. I'm seriously thinking that their some kind of psychedelic emissions coming from the island that makes everyone trippy (which would explain the visions and why half the freighter people went Coo coo for Coco Puffs).
- I'm curious as to how Ben goes from obviously depressed to Charles Bronson. Really.
- Was this the first ep ever to have Kate in it, yet she said nothing? It was weird to not have her interject herself in a situation and giving her sensitive yet pensive opinion.
- Did Keamy kill the Doc on the Freighter because he wanted to spook Frank, or because he knew the Doc was gonna end up dead anyway. Spooky!
- I have this theory about Sayid: he has a wonderful ability to "read" people (Ben's being an Other, Michael's betrayal) but his plans never really work (creating a signal, mapping the island, going after the Others win Jin and Sun, "rescuing" Jack from the Other's Barracks, etc.). I mention this because his latest plan is to save everyone on the island...by himself.
- I can't believe the writers/director actually thought the audience wouldn't want to see at least on exchange between Sawyer and Miles during this ep.
