While I dont doubt that there were far more people at Obama's inauguration, and that the 9-12ers' numbers are inflated, the two images dont actually prove anything because of the two drastically different scales of the photos. The Washington monument is simply too far away in the 9-12 image to be a fair comparison. Now, surely, somewhere out there exists an image from the inauguration from the same distance away from the monument as the 9-12 picture is, and that would prove more. As it is, it's simply fodder for the rightwingers to cry "foul!" and with good reason.
