If I had to guess, I'd say that Brooks is angling for a job - no doubt he dreams of being a press secretary.
Kristol is just an asshat. No, that's too mild. Kristol is a sociopath. We'll know that the Republican party is ready for responsible leadership again when Bill Kristol has no voice in it.
