LOST: Criminal Minded

I delayed posting my thoughts on the this week's episode because I missed most of the live broadcast and I wanted to see in full before I made any comments. One thing can be said about a Sawyer story: it's typically full of references (both subtle and overt) and there's usually a twist. The cool thing about Sawyer's twists is that they haven't ever really changed who the character is. For example: last week's episode revealed that Ben truly wants some kind of redemption, somethings we've never seen him even bother with previously. Sawyer, whether he's a con man on the Island or a detective in the X-World, is still a man trying to find the person who led to his parents death. Its this constant that defines him, more than any "good" or "evil" category. For James Ford, good and evil is just a unnecessary perspective.

DISCOVERIES
  1. F-Locke's plan to leave the Island involves the plane. I just think this is an interesting point, considering the most successful means of traveling to and from the Island have been by boat or sub.
  2. F-Locke is not above lying (to Sawyer about his "mission" and to Claire about Aaron) in order to get his way. I only bring this up because of the theories that suggest that the Smoke Monster was supposed to be some kind of "judge" for people on the Island.
  3. Widmore is setting up camp at the Hydra Station before he makes his attempt to take back the Island.


OBSERVATIONS
  1. Kate was not above shooting or beating Claire with her gun; then again, the girl was trying to kill her.
  2. Sayid seems to be embracing "the dark side" a little too much. I mean, he couldn't even muster a "Hey, Claire; please don't stab Kate?"
  3. Sorry, but anyone who's seen at least two seasons worth of this show would have known that Zoe was a plant. Nice try though.
  4. Charlotte's X-version is a little loose, ain't she?



QUESTIONS
  1. Does Sawyer know how to drive a sub?
  2. Why didn't F-Locke just go over to the Hydra Station himself?
  3. Why was X-World Charlotte snooping around James' folder when she was only looking for a shirt?
