That, and Texas would be short some roads, firefighters, libraries, schools and cops.

Besides NASA, I didn't think Texas was a scientific hotspot to begin with.

Actually, there are a lot of tech folks in Houston and North Dallas, and Austin is unaffordable for ordinary folks due to relocating Californians in the computer biz. It's not all ignorant bible-thumpers here, it just looks that way.
